Within Voorhees Township School District, Speech-Language Pathologists assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders.
Within Voorhees Township School District, SLPs determine if possible speech-language difficulties have an educational impact on a child's overall academic performance. Based on formal and informal assessment, students are deemed eligible for Speech and Language Services, based on district eligibility criteria.
- Speech disorders occur when a child has difficulty with overall intelligibility (an unfamiliar listener's ability to understand).
- Language disorders occur when a child has trouble with receptive language (understanding/processing) and/or expressive language (effectively expressing yourself).
- Social communication disorders occur when a child has trouble with effectively navigating social situations.
